My art weaves together the physical, emotional, mental, spiritual, and metaphysical. I like to zoom in and, at the same time, zoom out — the whole picture matters, yet often, it’s within the tiniest details and the many possible paths and outcomes where meaning unfolds. Playfulness is essential in discovering the right forms, shapes, and arrangements, and for embracing the endless possibilities that emerge when we let go of rigidity.

My work is inspired by life as a spiritual journey — a continuous search for meaning, self-exploration, and growth. It reflects on themes of conditioning and reconditioning, pattern recognition, and the process of navigating through the labels and roles each person inherits from society. These ideas are embedded in my creative process and surface through both form and content.

A theatrical element runs through my work — a legacy from my father, who spent his life working as an engineer in the theatre in Riga. The painting medium comes from my mother and grandmother, while the sculptural aspect also nods to my grandmother’s influence. A holistic vision and the spirit of collaboration between different fields and spheres are essential to my practice.

If one were to separate and dissect my work, it might be described as conceptual, abstract, or performative… but ultimately, it depends on the viewer — on their own life, experienced as a multidimensional, living map.

I work across mediums: painting, installation, objects, photography, sound, poetry, and contemplative, philosophical writing. In my own words: whichever technique best explores and expresses the concept and idea is the one chosen for that particular project.
